Comprehensible, comprehensive, explicit English instructions for programming your pedometers!
HealthCorps pedometers are designed to help you keep track of the steps you take every day. Dr. Oz recommends taking 10,000 each day for optimum health. The pedometers look like small gray and red pagers with the HealthCorps logo on the front.

However, they are not easy to program for that first use.
Here are some better directions:
Step 1: Opening your pedometer
There is a small gray latch at the top of the pedometer, located on the side with the clip.
Push this latch forward to open the pedometer face.
Step 2: Turning on the battery
Pull the clear plastic tab out of the upper left hand side of the pedometer face. This will activate your battery.
A clear plastic film covers the display. This also should be removed.
Step 3: Setting your pedometer
Changing to US Customary units:
The initial display will say "cm kg".
Press MODE once to change this to "in lb".
Press SET to accept.
Setting the time:
The display will now read 0:00.
Hold down the SET button until the far left zero blinks.
Press MODE repeatedly until you reach the desired hour.
(The pedometer uses military time.)
Press SET to accept the hour.
The minute zeros will blink now.
Press MODE repeatedly until you reach the desired minutes.
Press the SET button to accept.
Press MODE once.
This will display the number of steps (zero).
Setting your stride length:
Press MODE again.
The display will show the number of miles (0.00).
Hold down the SET button until the display shows 24 inches.
This will set your stride length to get a more accurate reading of miles walked.
Measure your stride length in inches or estimate by taking your shoe size x 4.
(These pedometers have a maximum of 80 inches and a minimum of 10).
Press MODE repeatedly until you reach the desired stride length.
Press SET to accept.
Setting your weight:
Press MODE again.
The display will show km.
Press MODE again.
The display will show Kcal.
Hold down the SET button until
the display shows 130 lb.
This will set your weight to get a more accurate reading of calories burned.
Push the MODE button repeatedly until
you reach your desired weight.
(If it is less than 130 lbs. you will have to go
up past 250 to reach the lower numbers.)
Press SET to accept.
The display will read 0.0 kcal.
Press MODE again and it will take you back to the time.
Testing your pedometer for accuracy:
Close the pedometer face and clip the pedometer onto your belt or waistband.
Take a short walk around the room.
Reopen the pedometer and press MODE once to see if it has counted your steps.
If the pedometer has not counted enough steps, slide the SENSITIVITY knob toward the + symbol. *
(Also try clipping your pedometer to your shoe, because they read better with a greater amount of up-and-down motion. . . but don't trip!)
Step 4: Clearing your 10,000 steps after a hard day's walk
To reset the number of steps BUT NOT THE PERSONAL INFORMATION, pres SET.
Do this each morning, to erase the previous days' 10,000 steps.
Step 6: Restoring Factory settings (not necessary):
To reset the personal information, press RESET. This will return the pedometer to its factory settings.
